Review the connection first
Ask the siding contractor and slater to examine the wall-to-roof area before removal begins. Clarify how existing flashing will be assessed and protected and who handles any required renewal. Photograph the original arrangement. Do not assume that covering the wall with new material leaves the water-shedding connection unchanged or that a surface sealant is an adequate substitute for a resolved detail.

Coordinate the work sequence
Identify which parts need to remain visible for inspection before siding closes the area. Keep the relevant designer involved where the assembly is being altered. Record the completed connection and any retained conditions. This coordination can prevent newly finished wall work from needing to be reopened because the roofing interface was left for somebody else to solve afterward.
