Spring: review winter effects

Clear gutters, outlets and accessible debris without damaging slate edges. Inspect vegetation contact, masonry work and flashings before colder weather. Schedule specialist repairs while conditions allow careful matching and metal work.

After major events: document promptly
High wind, falling limbs, hail and work by other trades justify an additional visual check. Photograph changes before temporary action. Emergency measures should avoid broad cement coatings or attachments that complicate permanent repair.
