Describe the actual need
Provide measurements taken by the roofer, the approximate thickness range, representative photographs, and any known source information. Explain whether the pieces are ordinary field replacements or special cuts. Ask the supplier what minimum quantity, packaging, and shipping arrangements apply to the available selection.

Have the installer confirm suitability
Review samples where a visual match matters, and let the slater assess whether the offered pieces can be used in the existing layout. A nominally similar size may not resolve thickness, hole position, or condition differences. Keep a record of the accepted supply and any pieces retained after the repair so the next small order starts with useful information.
