Give the supplier useful site information
Describe driveway width, overhead restrictions, slopes, turning space, and the proposed unloading location. Ask what delivery vehicle and unloading method are expected. Share photographs if access is unusual. Do not assume a delivery service includes carrying material across landscaping or placing it on a roof, deck, or other structure.

Agree on the receiving process
Name the person who will meet the delivery and check labels, quantities, and visible packaging condition. Plan a suitable ground storage location with the contractor and keep building entrances available. If the site cannot accept the shipment as planned, resolve that before dispatch. Save delivery records and photographs so the material can be traced when the installation crew begins sorting it.
