Verify identity and paperwork
Confirm quarry or producer, product name, size, thickness, quantity, pallet markings and applicable reports. Similar color names do not prove that a shipment matches the approved source.

Open representative pallets
Inspect material from several containers, not only the top of one pallet. Compare thickness, dimensions, surface, edge character, hole placement, color range and visible defects with approved samples.

Document shortages and damage
Photograph pallet condition, labels and representative pieces before material is distributed. Separate freight damage from production variation and notify the responsible parties promptly.
