Specify thickness range, hole position, surface texture, weight and test documentation. Two products with the same face size can handle very differently.

Review fastening and support
Long slate must lie without rocking and be secured without clamping. Deck irregularities and abrupt thickness differences can create stress over a larger span.

Plan movement and wind exposure
Large pieces present more surface area to wind. Perimeter details, steep slopes and exposed sites deserve project-specific fastening review.
