Review the existing assembly
Provide the designer with available information about the roof structure, interior finishes, ventilation provisions, and known moisture issues. Do not assume that an insulation approach suitable for another roof will suit this one. The roof covering is only one part of the assembly being altered.

Resolve moisture and access questions
Ask how the proposed work addresses the building's moisture behavior and preserves necessary inspection or service access. Have existing roof leaks assessed before they are hidden behind new finishes. Keep photographs of concealed areas and the approved design.
