Use a repeatable naming system
Label pictures by date, elevation, and feature, such as north slope near the chimney. Include one wide view before close-ups so the repair location can be found later. Keep the unedited originals as well as marked copies. Arrows are helpful, but they should not cover the defect or obscure the scale of the work.

Pair before and after views
Ask for completion photographs from a similar angle whenever practical. Note whether a picture shows opened work, hidden flashing, or the finished surface. A finished photograph cannot reveal every concealed detail, so retain relevant progress images too. Store the set beside the written scope rather than in an unlabeled phone album that may be lost when devices change.
