Describe the site before the visit
Tell the contractor about narrow driveways, steep ground, landscaping, nearby wires, and occupied entrances. Share a wide photograph of the building as well as close-ups of the damage. A small defect high above a conservatory requires different planning from an accessible roof slope beside an open yard.

Compare complete proposals
Ask whether access equipment, protection of adjacent surfaces, and cleanup are included. Do not compare proposals only by the count of broken slates. A clear access plan also helps other people understand which areas must remain clear during the work. Confirm who coordinates deliveries and whether gates, parked vehicles, or scheduled building activities could prevent the crew from reaching the repair area.
