Note which material information, access arrangements, or investigations proved especially useful. Identify unexpected conditions and how they were resolved. Keep the account factual and project-specific rather than turning one experience into a rule for every slate roof.

Make the information actionable
If a later phase is planned, list what should be checked earlier, which samples or spare stock remain available, and what documents need to be carried forward. Share the note with the people responsible for that work. The most useful lesson is one that changes a concrete preparation step, such as confirming a hidden junction before ordering or locating matching material before scheduling access.
