Decide what the roof should do visually
A relatively consistent selection can emphasize roof form and course lines. A blend can introduce broader variation and patterns of color. Neither choice is automatically appropriate for every building. Compare the options against the architecture and the scale at which the roof is normally seen.

Review distribution as well as ingredients
Ask how the selected colors will be distributed and how the approved appearance will be communicated to installers. A handful of samples cannot show whether a large roof will develop unwanted clusters. Use a representative arrangement or mockup where needed, and record the intended range. If replacing part of an existing roof, consider how the new selection relates to retained areas.
