Describe the proposed assembly
Provide product information for the slate system and the other components being added or removed. Ask the supplier and designer to state the relevant assembly weights rather than relying on an unrelated generic slate figure. Share available framing drawings, previous alterations, and known building issues. The engineer should determine what additional inspection or measurement is needed.

Keep the design coordinated
If slate thickness, layout, deck materials, or another significant component changes, ask whether the review needs updating. Do not treat an earlier approval for a different assembly as transferable without confirmation. Keep the final reviewed information with the roof specification and construction record. This makes the relationship between the selected roof and the structural assessment clear to everyone involved.
