Identify the roof system
Record building location, roof areas, slopes, slate sizes, thickness, colors, coursing, deck information when known, flashings, drainage and access limitations.

Locate every observation
Number photographs and connect them to elevations or a roof plan. Quantify broken, missing, sliding or delaminating slate and describe metal condition separately.

Prioritize recommendations
Separate active leakage and safety issues from near-term maintenance and long-term planning. Explain the evidence for repair versus replacement and identify further investigation where access was limited.
