Select the detail that matters
Ask the designer and installer which visible edge best represents the intended roof. A small constructed detail can help the owner understand the finished profile, while technical reviewers check the specified arrangement. The mockup should use the actual proposed materials where practical. A simplified display should be labeled so nobody mistakes it for a complete installation detail.

Use it to settle decisions
Review exposed metal, slate projection, texture, and the relationship to trim before production begins. Record approved changes and update the working drawings if needed. Keep appearance approval separate from responsibility for technical design. The value of the mockup is that everyone can discuss the same physical condition rather than picturing a different roof edge from a few words in the specification.
