Slate Boss app privacy

Saved on your device

Saved roofers, project names, roof details, ZIP codes and notes entered in the project notebook are stored on your device. The app does not upload this notebook or your bookmarks to an account or cloud database. You can remove a bookmark or delete a project in the app. Your device backup settings may include app data.

Directory updates

The app includes a public contractor directory and requests updates from SlateRoofingUSA.com. These requests send normal network information, including an IP address, to the hosting service. They do not include your notebook, bookmarks or directory search text. The app does not require an account and does not include analytics, advertising tracking or third-party advertising SDKs. Preferred listings identify Guild members; they are not personalized using your activity.

Quote requests and external links

When you choose to request a quote for a saved project, the app opens the website in your browser and includes the project summary in the web address to prefill the inquiry. That summary can be present in browser history and web service logs. Avoid placing sensitive information in notes that you send this way. Opening the page does not submit its contact form.

If you submit the website inquiry form, the contact details and message you provide are sent through FormSubmit to Slate Boss to handle your inquiry. We may also use your name, email address and inquiry details to send relevant Slate Boss promotional emails. You can ask us to stop promotional emails or request deletion of an inquiry by contacting theslateboss@gmail.com. We use these details to respond to requests and for our own marketing; the app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. External contractor websites, your browser and other services have their own privacy practices.

Sharing and calls

The system share sheet sends selected information to the app or recipient you choose. Telephone and website links open your device’s calling or browsing features. The app does not access your contacts, microphone, camera or precise location.
